The house is a very comfortable 19th century country house in its own grounds,
surrounded by terraced gardens ("les ourtets" in the local occitan language) and
woods, with fine views over the village and nearby hills.
On the ground-floor, there is a spacious and comfortable lounge with a fire for winter evenings
and a well furnished dining-room for your candle-lit evening meals.
Upstairs, there are four comfortable bedrooms with views over Cuxac.
The Gardens
Terraced gardens built with local stones surround the house, blending
in with the country hills. Fruit trees, flower bushes, wild and
cultivated perennials all mingle in a medley of colours for the
pleasure of guests and the wild life too! Birds, bats, red squirrels,
butterflies, bees will also be your hosts here.
Beyond the gardens you will enjoy the surrounding hills, the village roofs
and woods where you may see sheep quietly grazing.
The Guests and Facilities
Formerly run as a community guest-house, it is now available for
holiday rentals.
The house is large enough to cater for families
or groups of friends who can talk, relax, read, listen to music
or just meditate in a corner of the garden.
Particularly welcome are people interested in outdoor persuits such as hiking,
cycling, motor-cycling, swimming, bird-watching, etc.
It is also a very good starting point for visiting historical sites
such as Carcassonne, Lastours, Saissac, Minerve, etc.
